We are in the middle of the most exciting time of year for Alliance for Women in Media and our members.  I would like you to join me in thanking our Board of Directors, who have been working hard to serve our community.  Additionally, I would like to thank this year’s Corporate and Gala Sponsors (listed below).  Our industry is better because of each of you!!! Here are the details you need to know...

Mornin’After Golf Tournament:  On May 4th, Be a part of the legendary Mornin' After (after Showdown) Golf Tournament benefiting The Dream Fund. We are looking for Hole Sponsors, Prizes for in-tournament achievements like longest drive, closest to the pin, longest putt, etc, And lots of volunteers.  If you'd like to volunteer, offer prizes, or need more information, please email David Ault.

Membership Renewals: Now is the time to join or renew your membership to the Alliance for Women in Media (by clicking here)! We are changing our membership cycle and now it will always start on March 1st and run through the end of the following February. Don’t worry. If your current Professional Membership expires after March 2012, your renewal fee will be $5 for every month through February 28, 2013.  If you have any questions, please email Paulette Hopkins or Lindsey Weiner.

Students in Broadcasting: The next Student Media Tour details are here! The upcoming tour(s) will be on April 20th. This year we will have two tours – one in Ft. Worth, and one in Dallas. To register for this year's tour click here. We need volunteers and sponsors for this event, so please contact Vivian Unger if you can participate.

We had over 100 in attendance with lots of time for mixing and mingling before we got to hear some of the brightest “digital” minds in this area. Hillary Clinton borrowed the phrase "It takes a village" in the 90's in reference to a community approach to raising children. We also find that phrase is very true for adults in business. We all wear many hats and juggle many responsibilities. Here is some useful advice worth sharing from Harvard Business Review's "Management Tips."
