AWM-DFW in keeping with our education mission sponsors an Annual Student Media Tour designed to serve as professional education outside the classroom.  AWM-DFW invites students majoring in advertising, journalism, marketing, broadcasting, public relations and allied fields from area colleges and universities to participate. The student media tour offers a unique “peak behind the curtain” to understand career tracks, internships and professional opportunities after graduation.

We spend sixty to ninety minutes at each media facility. Students garner professional insight, career advice and tips as they prepare to transition from college to the professional world.  Resumes are collected by the media partners in consideration for internships. AWM-DFW provides students with executive transportation, meals and a One Year Student Membership to our organization. 

This year there will be a tour in Ft. Worth and Dallas with a total capacity of 50 students. We are looking for venues at top companies in radio, television, sports marketing, advertising, public relations and newspapers companies to host. We ask each venue to provide a tour as well as offer department overviews and descriptions of career tracks and required skills.  Students will bring their resumes for internships and entry level positions available beginning in Summer, 2013.
